See WALK THREW of Canton Ohio Log Home
MIKE HOMPERTZ of Patriot Log Home Builders was called in from homeowner Todd who found him from this website, needing him to 'save' the home that he recently purchased. It was an uncompleted Hochstetler log home that had sat in this state for about 5 years. The home sat on quite a few acre's and presumably Todd got it at a good price. However he could not move forward with putting inn electrical , as the interior walls were not up, nor the staircase to second floor. It is unknown who built this home and left it uncompleted.
BEFORE
Abandoned for nearly 5 years on a lovely property, no interior walls, stairs , incomplete siding, no porch ..unlivable but salvageable !
Homeowner in Ohio, bought this log home half completed. It sat for years, hence the discoloration. |
AFTER
It is clear here on the two dormers that Mike sided to see the discoloration of the wood. The home will need to be bleached and stained at a later date. |
Mike Hompertz is shown wearing his Carhartt jacket after the job is finished. |
The interior walls on the second floor, prior to this only the second floor was on, it was dirty, requiring cleaning, birds nests etc, Mike cleaned the home and left it in this state so the electrical could be put in.

The Homeowner was very pleased with Mikes work, and has invited him back to help with some of the finishing touches.Cover the interior walls and is thinking of extending the present front porch around the whole house.

I've always wondered what it would be like to have log homes. This looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteHow much do log homes cost? Do you usually only build one in a rural area? I live in the suberbs and would still like one.
